I never thought I would pursue a career in numbers, but everything changed when I attended my first soils lecture. I had always studied accounting through school, and the more I thought about it as a career, the more I realised just how much I enjoyed it. After starting my degree, the more I learned, the more I knew this was the path I wanted to take, as I could help people achieve their goals.

My first role in accounts allowed me to get hands-on experience, and I later took on other accounting roles that expanded my skill set and knowledge. These experiences paved the way for me to land an incredible job at a chartered accountancy firm in Hawke’s Bay, where I was able to develop valuable skills, work closely with clients, and deepen my understanding of the industry.

In the midst of this journey, we welcomed two beautiful children, which led me to take some time off to focus on them. While balancing motherhood and work presented its challenges, it also taught me invaluable lessons about time management, adaptability, and perseverance.

Over the past eight years in accounting, I’ve really enjoyed learning about the "why" behind businesses—the reasons people start their ventures, the challenges they face, and the goals they aim to achieve. This deeper understanding fuels my passion for helping business owners succeed, whether that’s through streamlining their finances, providing clear insights into their numbers, or helping them plan for the future. It’s this connection to people and their stories that motivates me to provide thoughtful, tailored bookkeeping solutions that truly make a difference.
